Material Requirements Planner (Purchasing Agent)

We are a dynamic and growing food manufacturing company seeking a full-time Purchasing Agent with strong leadership skills, analytical capabilities, and deep industry knowledge. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient sourcing and procurement of materials, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting inventory and quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans.
• Source and purchase raw materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Manage vendor relationships and maintain accurate vendor files.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, shipping documents, and invoices.
• Monitor and control inventory levels; maintain inventory records.
• Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
• Forecast pricing trends and market dynamics.
• Assess, manage, and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Coordinate transportation and delivery logistics.
• Provide purchasing support to management and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent, Manager, or Officer.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics.
• Proficiency in vendor sourcing and negotiation.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to interpret data and market trends.
• Familiarity with purchasing software and inventory systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
